"Camp Site to Be Presented to the Girl Scouts"
Thomas J. Crowell will present to the Fairfax County Council of the Girl Scouts land for a camp site during ceremonies to be held at 4 o'clock, December 12 at the Scout House in Falls Church. The land is a heavily wooded tract on county road 29 two and a half miles beyond Oakton. Although plans for the development of the property are not yet completed, it is expected that clearing will be started early in the spring so the camp can be used for day and overnight camping next summer.
Participation in the presentation of the deed by Mr. Crowell will be prominent citizens of the county, Girl Scout leaders and representatives of the troops. A selected group of Girl Scouts from Lorton and Vienna will sing under the direction of Mrs. Frank Webber.

"Girl Scouts Discuss New Camp Site"
An exposition of the first plans and needs for the development of their recently acquired camp site near Oakton was put before the Fairfax County Council of Girl Scouts at its annual meeting January 17, at the Scout House in Falls Church.
Mrs. Mason Hirst described the Crowell tract in detail, emphasizing its advantages as a camp. F.C. Plitt, of the camp committee, then listed the buildings that will be essential to the enjoyment of this site by the Girl Scouts.

"Girl Scout Camp Nearing Completion"
Camp Crowell, the Fairfax County Girl Scout Camp near Oakton, is taking shape for the summer season. Although it is expected to be ready, there is still much to be done.
Troop 44, of Mt. Vernon district, under the leadership of Mrs. Joseph James, spent last weekend working on the camp lodge. Four of the fathers accompanied the troop and greatly assisted with the work.
H.C. Rickert, of Vienna, has volunteered to take charge of all construction work at the camp during weekends. All fathers or friends of Fairfax County Girl Scouts who will donate their services, materials or equipment to the effort are urged to call Mr. Rickert.
